The FPJ Conferences - North West event will be held at the Midland Hotel, Manchester, on Thursday and there are still places left for anyone who has not registered yet.

A series of speakers from the retail, foodservice and wholesale sectors will be putting their views across to a diverse mix of delegates. The conference will also examine how fresh produce companies can innovate and invest in the region.

The retail section of the day programme will feature Re:fresh Independent Retailer of the Year winner Wareings of Tarleton’s Debbie Wareing, and supermarket Booths' fresh produce buyer Chris Treble, while views from the foodservice industry in the area will be brought to the table by Boyd Park, managing director of Fresh Direct Local in the North West, as well as Matthew Wale, head of procurement at Reynolds Catering Supplies Ltd.

Mark Legomski, head of markets at Manchester City Council, and Krys Zasada, policy development manager for the National Association of British Market Authorities, will provide some insight on the importance of wholesale markets in the North West. Eamonn Lynch of Liverpool Produce Terminal and David Hunter, head of rural development at the Economic Development Directorate, Northwest Regional Development Agency, will discuss the opportunities out there for North West fresh produce businesses.
