The programme and registration forms for FPJ’s first-ever regional conference, coming to Scotland at the end of February, have now gone live on www.freshinfo.com

More than 100 local growers, wholesalers and independent retailers are expected to attend FPJ’s first conference in Scotland, taking place at Perth Racecourse on 23 February.

Hosted by FPJ editor Laura Gould, FPJ Conferences offer you the opportunity to discuss what is happening in Scotland’s fast-growing fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain.

Speakers from some of Scotland’s key fresh fruit and vegetable companies and organisations are going to debate issues that face the sector in 2010. What changes will the renovation of Glasgow’s busy wholesale market bring? How can local suppliers link up more effectively with independent retailers? What new opportunities are there for local growers?

Graham Wallace, managing director of City Markets Glasgow LLP and chairman of the World Union of Wholesale Markets, will kick off the day with his views on the regeneration of Glasgow wholesale market and the opportunities for wholesaling in Scotland.

Other key speakers include Nigel Harris, managing director of foodservice specialist Fresh Direct, Gerry Price and Wilson Neil from Total Produce with representatives from Spar, Jim Booth from the Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society and a soon-to-be-confirmed member of the Scottish Parliament.

Jill Orr from soft-fruit specialist Angus Soft Fruits will round off the presentations by offering a grower’s perspective on the Scottish supply chain.

FPJ editor Laura Gould will host a panel discussion to end the day, addressing the key issues raised during the sessions and fielding questions from delegates in the audience.

Take advantage of our £50 + VAT early bird offer for delegates, which expires on 1 February.

Exhibition space will be available alongside the conference and sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, contact laura@fpj.co.uk or ian@fpj.co.uk
