Two Staffordshire fresh produce wholesalers have teamed up to form Freshview Foods and are presenting a new range of products to customers at an open day on 18 October.

Bill Summerscales, owner of Morning Fresh and Richard Harrison, owner of RJ Harrison, have moved to larger premises in Newcastle-under-Lyme, which has given them the opportunity to supply customers with new products.

Summerscales said: “Although we have been competitors, we have helped each other over the years, so it really makes sense to amalgamate the companies. We were both looking for bigger premises so that we can continue improving the service and product range that our customers expect from us.”

Richard Harrison agreed: “We have both bought the best produce and in most cases from the same farms and markets and have always worked closely with our customers giving them the best value for money. The move has given us the opportunity to stock more produce and products. Our aim is to continue caring for the small accounts as well as the multiples.”

Freshview Foods supplies schools, universities, restaurants, leisure centres, pubs and sandwich bars as well as fast-food outlets and small retailers from North Wales to the outskirts of London.

At the open day later this month the firm will showcase not just fresh produce but also local cheese, eggs, chilled foods and desserts prepared by their own chefs on site.
