The ten nominations for this year’s Fruit Logistica Innovation Award (FLIA) 2009 have been made by the jury.
The innovations selected range from fruit, including papaya, pears and sweet peppers, to a school apple project, as well as new products for transport and packaging logistics.
The nominees are:

Three of the nominations are from Germany, with two each coming from France and the Netherlands. Three entries from companies based in Belgium, Italy with Malaysia the only non-European nation nominated.
The innovation award is presented in recognition of outstanding new products and services from the fruit and vegetable sector that were launched on the market between 1 November, 2007 and 31 October, 2008 and are tipped to make an impact on the fresh produce sector.
The FLIA has established itself as one of the most prestigious awards for innovators in the international fresh produce trade.
It will be presented for the fourth time at FRUIT LOGISTICA, the world’s leading trade fair for the international fresh produce sector, which takes place from 4 to 6 February 2009 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.
The Fruit Logistica Innovation Award 2009 is presented by Messe Berlin GmbH and Fruchthandel Magazin, Düsseldorf.
