Fruit Logistica to add Americas

Fruit Logistica 2007 is expanding to include a dedicated hall for the Americas following record demand for exhibition space.

According to organisers, demand for stands has exceeded expectations, with 1,800 exhibitors from more than 60 countries signing up.

Two additional halls were already earmarked for next year’s event, with exhibitors from South America and Europe reportedly expanding their presence at the show, but the strong demand will see Hall 25 dedicated to the Americas.

At 7500 sqm, it is the largest indoor display area at the Berlin-based site and will, house exhibitors from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, the US, and Honduras, which is present at the show for the first time.

Fruit Logistica 2007 will also have a hall focused on the machinery sector, showcasing packaging, sorting and labelling equipment in Hall 6.1.

Overall, the show has added an extra 12,000 sqm to its exhibition space, bringing the total to 72,000 sqm - 20 per cent bigger than last year. It anticipates 40,000 trade visitors from more than 110 countries, and this year, Netherlands is its official partner country.

It will take place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds on February 8-10.
