Southport Flower Show 2003 was a resounding success according to traders at this year's event. 100,000 visitors attended the three-day show despite the mixed weather.

The UK's only HERBoretum attracted large crowds, with packed audiences at lectures given by Stefan Buczacki and David Bellamy.

Mike McLoed, general manager of the show said: "This year's Southport Flower Show was a resounding success for our trade exhibitors. The wet weather certainly didn't dampen visitor's shopping impulses with the three best sellers this years being rudbeckia, acidanthera and crocosmia George Davies."
