Leading salad grower G’s has released a cinematic sustainability report, bringing to life diverse stories, voices and sustainability achievements
G’s has published its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report in a polished video for the first time, designed to bring to life stories from around the business told by the people working in those roles.
The report, which was released via Vimeo to coincide with World Soil Day (5 December), is introduced by G’s Group CEO, Guy Shropshire, and includes segments on the company’s investments in seasonal worker accommodation, peat-free production, water conservation, solar energy and regenerative farming.
Lucy Harler, G’s future farming manager, explains how the company has seen a breakthrough in its trials of composting technique Johnson-Su, covered by FPJ this year, which is helping the company drastically reduce its artificial fertiliser use.
Other voices include Harry Nolan, an engineer working on G’s work on peat-free mushroom production, who reveals the company now uses peat-free compost on all its organic mushrooms, reducing the product’s carbon footprint by 56 per cent.
Elsewhere, Ukrainian seasonal worker Victor Kravchenko talks through people initiatives, including the on-site hostel accommodation that has been developed by G’s.
It comes as the Cambridgeshire supplier has been announced as the 2026 host of FPJ’s Festival of Fresh event, where the conference programme will be accompanied by various tours across G’s operations.
