UK salad veg suppliers G’s Fresh are rolling out a new scheme to train its 'millennial' employees, aged between 25 and 34, how to succeed and look after their health.

The company announced up to 75 young recruits in their Early Careers training programme will learn how to develop resilience in a fast paced environment, and the energy to work in a physically and mentally demanding sector.

Since 2013 G’s Fresh have partnered with the health and wellbeing company Let’s Get Healthy who designed a 1-day training course and online game for all employees on the Early Careers programme.

Beverly Dixon, group HR and health and safety group director, said the move aimed to attract and retain a “diverse, energised workforce”.

“G’s offers all staff a place to learn and grow and we have always strived to offer everyone the opportunity to learn how to improve their own personal health and wellbeing,” said Dixon.

“We want to attract and retain a diverse, energised workforce and the workshops and online game are a great way to do this. Let’s Get Healthy are long term partners and understand our sector well and the teams always love the sessions.”

Maria Bourke, managing director at Let’s Get Healthy, says: “I have always adored working with G’s and other companies in this sector. A company that grows healthy, nutritious food is a joy to work with and I often feel this sector is not recognised for the amazing support it gives its teams and the how their products help the health of masses of people across the globe.”
