Importer, wholesaler and supermarket supplier M&W Mack Ltd has announced it has completed the purchase of the business of DGM Food Group Ltd and its subsidiary.

Mack, which last reported annual sales of almost £270 million, operates through two divisions – wholesale and multiples – which between them supply fresh produce nation-wide to all sectors of the market: major multiples, catering operators, processors, wholesalers and independent retailers.

Chairman Christopher Mack commented: 'We are really pleased that we have completed a deal and that the team at DGM will join Mack. In recent years they have been extremely successful in developing their business, both at the top end of the potato market and with a range of organic vegetables. This is an exciting opportunity for us to get involved in these major product markets.' DGM, with annual sales of £20m, will continue to operate as a stand-alone business under the control of managing director Colin Clark and finance director Mike Roberts.

Clark added: 'In my opinion, the combination of our acknowledged product expertise and Mack's marketing and technical resources, will enable us to cement our position as a leading, innovative potato supplier to the UK market.'
