Ian Craig is moving from Manor Fresh to Thanet Earth

Fresca Group has announced top-level management changes within two of its joint venture companies, Manor Fresh Ltd and Thanet Earth.

Manor Fresh, the specialist potato and vegetable business in Lincolnshire, was established as a joint venture between Fresca-owned DGM Growers and Bakkavor QV Ltd. Ian Craig joined Fresca some five years ago to run DGM Growers, and was instrumental in the formation of Manor Fresh.

In a statement, Fresca Group said: “Now in its fourth year of trading, Manor Fresh is in great shape with a strong management team in place.

“It is time to give Ian a fresh challenge and to give more responsibilities to the very able team at Manor Fresh. Therefore, Mike Scott, currently commercial manager at Manor Fresh, will be replacing Ian Craig as its managing director, with immediate effect. This is a well-deserved promotion and we wish Mike every success in his new role.”

Scott will continue to be supported by Nigel Baker (finance director), Roger Glover (general manager) and Shayne Tyler (operations manager).

Craig, a board director of Fresca Group Ltd who has spent most of his working life in the fresh produce industry in a number of senior commercial and management positions, is moving south to join Thanet Earth Marketing Ltd as managing director.

The Fresca statement said: “Ian is looking forward to building on the early successes of Thanet Earth and helping it to mature into a strong performing business.”

As a result of this appointment, former managing director Steve McVickers will, in due course, be leaving the business.

The statement continued: “Steve has made a big contribution to the Fresca business in a number of roles, most notably with his energy and commitment to the establishment of the Thanet Earth project. We wish him every success in the future.

“These changes represent significant opportunities for the people and companies involved, and we very much look forward to the next period of development for these growing businesses.”
