R&G Fresh Herbs has made several management promotions in addition to a new commercial appointment.

Dean Fowler, R&G’s commercial manager since 2009, has been promoted to the role of general manager, responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, which is the UK’s leading supplier of fresh cut herbs to supermarkets, foodservice and wholesale.

Gill Wood, a long-serving member of staff with more than 15 years’ experience, has moved from the position of office manager to financial controller.

David Battershell, who originally joined the firm in 1996, has been promoted to the senior management team in his role as procurement manager.

Commenting on the management team restructure, R&G partner Mathew Prestwich, said: 'The combination of the highly successful Nature’s Flavours brand launch coupled with substantial new customer wins, means R&G is gearing up for growth.

“R&G is built on the talent and dedication of its long serving staff members and I’m very happy to announce these new promotions,” he added.

Jo Venus has also joined the firm as a commercial analyst. Her expertise includes examining sales and stock data, identifying emerging customer trends and reducing any wastage across the several dozen product lines that R&G supplies.

“We’re very happy to welcome Jo to the R&G team,” said Fowler.

“Jo’s wealth of experience as a data analyst is of significant benefit to both R&G and its customers, enabling the business to react quickly to any requests for data and ensuring R&G continues to provide a comprehensive and responsive service to its customers,” he added.
