MBM Produce has announced that chairman of the board John Manchett will be leaving the company on June 25 2004.
Under Manchett’s stewardship MBM has grown to become one of the leading integrated potato merchandising business in the UK with a turnover in excess of £140million.
Manchett became a founder member of MBM following the sale of his potato business to Hillsdown Holdings in 1987. He occupied the positions of director and managing director until July 2002, when he became chairman of the board.
Manchett has made a major contribution to the potato industry over a period of 35 years. When the British Potato Council was created n succession to the Potato Marketing Board in 1997 he was appointed to its governing body, which he served until 2001.
