McCain has launched a new Express vegetable range designed to make everyday vegetables more interesting and hassle-free for consumers.

The product range comes in a steamable pouch, and the vegetables can be microwaved in less than five minutes.

McCain is promoting its frozen vegetable range as a quick, simple way to add one of your 5 A DAY to your diet without compromising on quality and taste.

Express combines chunky vegetables and a light sauce, such as Baby Carrots and Green Beans with Honey and Mustard. Aimed at the convenience market, all of the Express products score at least two green traffic lights (as measured against Food Standards Agency signpost labelling standards), with Broccoli, Red Pepper and Soya Beans scoring all four green lights.

Express was developed as a result of extensive consumer research conducted by McCain, which revealed that vegetables were the first thing people skipped when it came to making dinner. The range is available from all major supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons, Somerfield and Asda. Express comes in four different varieties - Baby Carrots and Green Beans in a Honey and Mustard Sauce; Broccoli, Red Pepper and Soya Beans in a Tomato and Herb Sauce; Baby Carrots, Baby Corn and Red Pepper in a Five Spice Sauce; and Orange and Yellow Carrots in a Light Soy Sauce - and cost £1.49 for a 150g pouch.
