The Potato Tickler adds life to the TV advert

McCain Foods has relaunched its Prepared Potato range with a marketing spend of more than £7 million.

The Prepared Potato range will benefit from a new TV ad campaign, a new recipe for Smiles and a revamp to the prepared potato range packaging.

The new Good Unlimited ad campaign focuses on its Smiles, Wedges and Sweet Potato products, giving consumers a glimpse inside a McCain potato factory, to witness how each potato is “lavished with natural goodness”.

The ads depict the products bobbing along through the factory. En route, they are either tickled by the “Potato Tickler” to create McCain Smiles, sprinkled with natural herbs by the “Confetti Machine” to create McCain Lightly Spiced Wedges or hugged by the rosemary and garlic machine to create McCain sweet potato with rosemary and garlic.

The campaign kicked off on November 13 and will run until mid-December, with an online interactive game based on the TV ad running on ITV.com alongside video pre-rolls in December.

Mark Hodge, retail marketing manager at McCain said: “These charming ads are sure to capture the imagination of consumers of all ages, but they also bring to life the It’s All Good philosophy that we at McCain take seriously.

“We take pride in ensuring each potato is of the highest quality and look forward to sharing these values with our consumers in a fun, light-hearted way.”
