Monsanto’s Vegetable seeds division presented its leading vegetable seed brands - Seminis, De Ruiter Seeds, Peotec Seeds and Western Seeds - during German trade show Fruit Logistica this month.

The company showcased the Signs of Success business approach, which includes innovative varieties, sustainability solutions and collaboration opportunities.

Carl Rentes, director of consumer traits in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “A perfect example of what partnership can mean is Bellaverde sweet stem broccoli. This new broccoli variety has been introduced successfully in the UK and more European markets will follow.”

Monsanto’s vice-president of consumer traits, David Stark, said at Fruit Logistica: “If we can bring vegetables to the market that children just love to eat, then we have reached one of our key objectives. At the same time, we don’t forget other traits that are crucial for our customers, like disease resistance and shelf life. Monsanto puts a lot of effort into both fields.”
