Morocco put on show

SIFEL 2003, the international fruit and vegetable industry show, will take place in Agadir, Morocco, on December 4-7.

Organiser IEC International promises a broad spectrum of international and local exhibitors from the production, processing, distribution and storage sectors.

"This is an outstanding opportunity to establish business contacts in Morocco and Maghreb," said IEC. "It is a unique chance to get an overview of the prevailing trends in the fruit and vegetable business in Morocco."

The event is being held in the middle of the Souss region, the most important horticultural production area in the country. Crops produced in Souss include tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, capsicum and courgettes, as well as 620,000 tonnes of citrus, 61,800t of bananas and nearly 4,000t of melons last year.
