New analysis of trade data shows country shipped even more fresh raspberries to the UK in year to June 2026
Morocco has strengthened its leading position in the UK’s growing market for fresh raspberries, according to new analysis by EastFruit.
From July 2025 and June 2026, the UK imported around 18,400 tonnes of raspberries valued at approximately £132.7mn from Morocco, the website noted, citing HM Revenue & Customs data.
“Morocco has reinforced its leadership in the United Kingdom’s fresh raspberry trade, achieving growth for the fifth consecutive marketing year,” it reported.
And despite that growth being only 1.6 per cent year on year, it represented a new record in a market where total fresh raspberry imports actually fell in the same period.
“This performance allowed Morocco to sustain its upward trajectory, with shipments now 2.6 times higher than in MY 2020/21,” the report continued. “Over five years, the country has transformed from a secondary supplier into the undisputed leader of the UK raspberry market.”
During the 12 months analysed, Morocco’s share of fresh raspberry imports climbed to 62.9 percent, considerably higher than the 21.3 per cent share it achieved in 2020/21.
“The latest results confirm that Morocco’s success is not a one‑off but the outcome of well‑planned logistics, favourable climatic conditions, and the ability to meet demand precisely when European producers scale back volumes,” the report added.
“With the UK berry market continuing to expand and consumers accustomed to year‑round availability, Morocco is well positioned to shape future trends in this segment.”
