Morrisons stores in the eastern counties have been helping a local fresh produce supplier to raise funds that will support members of the farming community in East Anglia that are facing hardship.

From My Farm sources fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit from local suppliers in the region and markets them to leading outlets, including Morrisons stores in the East.

Presenting a cheque for £2,000 to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), From My Farm marketing assistant Alex Smith said: “For every pack we sell, we put one penny into our charitable fund, The Growing Trust, and we make a donation to a charity within the region every six months. RABI is a regionally focused charity, so it means that shoppers in East Anglia who buy From My Farm produce are helping those in real need of assistance who have worked in the industry and the region which grows our produce.”

RABI chief executive Paul Burrows added: “Farming has never been easy, and there are many people in the farming community in the eastern counties who are facing hard times. We would like to thank From My Farm and the people of the region for this generous donation which will be used in our work with the local farming community.”
