Mushrooms tickled pink

Sharp interpack is turning its mushroom punnets pink for Asda, to support the Tickled Pink breast cancer awareness campaign.

Sales of the pink punnets, filled with baby mushrooms, will see the donation of 11p per punnet - each with a recommended retail price of £1.08 - to charity Breast Cancer Care.

The punnets are being stocked from October 10 for around three weeks.

Tickled Pink is in its 13th year and has raised nearly £20 million for Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Care through sales of pink products and in-store fundraising.

The money raised has funded 48 research projects in 20 locations across the UK and solely funded three scientific fellowships worth £1.4m.

Tony Manners, sales director at Sharp Interpack, said: “The Tickled Pink campaign raises a significant amount of money, which supports valuable research - we’re proud to be able to contribute to this initiative, helping raise awareness for such a worthy cause.”
