UK fresh produce importer and distributor Minor, Weir & Willis has received the Gold GroceryAid Award for its work supporting the national grocery charity

UK fresh produce business Minor, Weir & Willis (MWW) has been awarded the Gold GroceryAid Award in recognition of its work with national grocery charity GroceryAid.
The awards recognise companies in the UK grocery industry that actively support the GroceryAid charity through awareness, fundraising and volunteering efforts.
MWW achieved the Gold award, which honours businesses that promote welfare services to employees and contribute to the charity’s mission.
“We are absolutely delighted to be recognised with the Gold Award from GroceryAid,” said Sant Mehta, chairman and CEO of MWW.
“While the recognition is something to be proud of, what truly matters is the incredible work GroceryAid does on behalf of the tens of thousands of people who work in our sector.
“The support the charity provides is fantastic, and this achievement is a credit to the entire MWW team who have worked tirelessly to raise all-important awareness and funds throughout the year,” Mehta noted.
MWW is a family-owned importer and distributor of fresh fruit, vegetables and salads, working with a global network of growers from over 40 countries.
The Birmingham-based business has been working with GroceryAid, as part of its ongoing ESR programme.
Recently, MWW was shortlisted for the Diversity and Inclusion Award in the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce Awards.
“Investing in people, not only within our business but also with our global grower network, is at the core of what we do at MWW,” Mehta added.
”That’s why we’re proud to work with charitable and community organisations, like GroceryAid, to continually improve ethical working standards for employees in the UK and across the world.”
GroceryAid was founded in 1857 and provides financial, emotional and practical support to those working in the fresh produce industry, which includes manufacturing, supermarkets, independent grocers and wholesalers.
