Acquisition comes as Nationwide continues to expand

Nationwide Produce has completed its first-ever acquisition in the shape of EuroFresh Evesham.
Vale of Evesham-based EuroFresh has been in business since 1998, supplying the wholesale and catering sectors with a wide range of locally grown and imported fruit and vegetables.
In a message to customers, Nationwide chairman Tim O’Malley said: ”We keep running out of space in Evesham, which is perhaps not such a bad thing, although it creates operational challenges. This will give us our third refrigerated depot on Vale Park.
”We’re also taking on EuroFresh’s whole fleet of refrigerated vehicles as we look to extend and increase our geographical delivery area in the UK and Ireland.
”The name over the door will change to Nationwide Produce Plc and all future business will be conducted under the same name.
“We see this as a good move for the group, not only strategically but also operationally. It will give us much-needed extra space, lorries and staff in order to continue to provide our customers with the high service levels they’ve become accustomed to.”
Nationwide Produce was established in Southport in 1975 and now has a group turnover of £205 million, supplying more than 1,000 customers throughout Europe across all market sectors.
