Nigel Bardsley has been named as the society’s chairman, with Claire Seymour becoming chair of trustees and Eileen Haffenden appointed in the newly created position of MFSS manager.

In a further announcement, MFSS said that its flagship event, the National Fruit Show, will become a one-day show, to be held on Wednesday 6 November in the Maidstone Exhibition Hall at the Kent Showground.

“The new team is committed to creating a dynamic, buzzing event for exhibitors and visitors alike to meet and share the industry’s innovation and excellence,” MFSS said in a statement.

“We very much appreciate all the support that has been given to the National Fruit Show in the past and are grateful for the continual commitment which will ensure it remains an event worthy of showcasing our industry.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the previous chairs, Sarah Culcutt and Andrew Tinsley, members of staff, the trustees and general committee for their support, hard work and dedication.”
