Netherlands-based mushroom specialist the Banken Champignons Group is expanding its convenience range with the launch of a new mushroom product ready-filled with cream cheese.
Looking to appeal to young consumer-base, which it says prioritise healthy and convenient food, Champi de Luxe® comes in four different flavours - red and green pesto, garlic and pepper - and is easily prepared in the oven, the company said.
The mushrooms are also low fat in order to appeal to the health-conscious - around 35 calories each.
The product is the latest addtion to Banken Champignons’ convenience range which includes Champi Cuisine® Champi Barbecue® on the market, introduced last year. It also has plans to launch two new products into this range at the end of the year, in addition to its mainstay product list of wild and cultivated mushrooms.
To promote the new product and get feedback from consumers, Banken Champignons has set up a website www.champi.info featuring recipes and information about its different products.
