Delta-T Devices has introduced a new weather station, designed to be easy to set up and operate.

The WS-GP1 is delivered pre-wired with a set of carefully matched high-grade sensors including rain, solar radiation, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity and air temperature.

The WS-GP1 is supplied in two suitcase-style carry cases that can be used to store or transport the system, light enough for one person to carry on site. The sensors and logger are ready assembled and pre-wired on the cross-arm, making it an easy task to assemble the system, even in difficult environments.

Despite the low system cost, the sensors are dependable and suitable for use in demanding environments, according to Delta-T.

A simple 2m pole is available as an alternative for mounting in concrete, or the cross-arm can be ordered separately for fitting onto the customer’s own mast (42-52 mm diameter). The internal battery provides six months’ operation (typical for alkaline, much longer with optional lithium battery).

Recorded weather data can be collected directly with a notebook PC, remotely by optional GSM modem, or using a Pocket PC PDA with the optional Pocket DeltaLINK Software to collect and view the data, or reconfigure the logging set-up in the field. As well as standard options, data sets include the ability to log and display: wind rose, gusts, averages (including direction and vector average), maximum and minimum readings with times of occurrence.
