Nisa has recalled two lot codes of its bagged spinach, which may contain small pieces of metal, according to the Food Standards Agency.
The recall was made on Nisa’s 200g packs of Heritage Fresh spinach from Spain due to the health risk posed to customers.
Anyone who has bought the product with lot codes 5016 or 5026 is advised not to eat it. The product should be returned to the store where it was purchased in return for a full refund, according to the Food Standards Agency website.
Point-of-sale notices will also be displayed in stores selling the product to explain to customers why the products are being recalled and advise them what to do if they have bought them.
No other Nisa products are known to be affected.
