London awards ceremony recognised excellence across fresh produce supply chain from groundbreaking agritech solutions to sustainability milestones

Peter Durber of New Spitalfields exotics importer and wholesaler Tropifresh picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s FPC Fresh Awards, with horticultural investment firm Greosn, pioneering strawberry producer Dyson Farming, and sustainable glasshouse grower Thanet Earth among the other big winners.

Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday 26 September, the black-tie event recognised the trailblazers, innovators and dedicated teams shaping the future of the industry.

From groundbreaking agritech solutions and sustainability milestones to outstanding retail partnerships and inspirational individuals, the awards celebrated excellence at every stage of the supply chain.

TV presenter Chris Bavin hosted the evening, which was attended by 600 guests and reflected the pride, passion and progress of the fresh produce and horticulture sectors.

Highlights of this year’s awards included:

  • Peter Durber of Tropifresh receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of dedication to the UK exotics market.
  • Greosn being crowned Fresh Produce Business of the Year, the coveted ‘winner of winners’ accolade.
  • Dyson Farming being recognised as Technology Champion of the Year for its pioneering use of agritech innovation.
  • Thanet Earth being honoured with the first ever Net Zero Impact Award for its bold decarbonisation journey.
  • Rising stars, dedicated managers, and inspiring teams from across the industry being celebrated for their contribution and passion.

The FPC’s CEO Nigel Jenney said: “I am immensely proud of the achievements we have recognised this year – from the inspirational individuals shaping the future to the businesses leading the way in sustainability, technology, and supply chain excellence. The strength of this industry lies in its people, and tonight we have truly honoured them.”

The event also paid tribute to the ongoing resilience and forward-thinking spirit of the industry in the face of significant challenges, underscoring its vital role in feeding the nation and supporting communities.
