A Yorkshire potato supplier will now deliver seed potatoes directly to homes and workplaces under a new grow-your-own range for consumers.
Higgins, based in Finningley, near Doncaster, has launched its new Potato Grow product, offering seed potatoes for varieties including Maris Piper, King Edwards and Charlotte, as well as specialities including Pink Fir Apple and Smile.
The company, which supplies processors and retailers with fresh potatoes, also has a base in France for its European operations, as well as Norfolk and Scotland.
“We are really excited to be launching this new service and taking our seed potatoes directly to the consumer,” said managing director, David Higgins.
“Here at Higgins, we grow traditional and new potato varieties which we then provide as seed to customers in over 25 countries around the world. With this knowledge and experience, we feel we are in the best position to help people understand, grow and taste their own finest potatoes.”
