QV Foods aims to bring the potato offer back to basics with its new Inspire fit-for-purpose range, which informs the consumer how the particular potato in the pack should be cooked.

The 7.5kg fresh potato sacks, launched this autumn and backed by Gregg Wallace, are sold by use rather than variety. This also aims to ensure that only the best varieties for that cooking method will be selected.

QV Foods’ director Simon Martin told FPJ at The Restaurant Show: "We are to support the Lincolnshire brand and it is all part of the parcel. It is about raising the Inspire brand awareness. We now supply half a million Inspire bags a week and the range keeps on increasing - we have moved into frozen, seasonal vegetables, herbs and now salads.

“The fit for purpose range is taking consumers back in time and giving them the right variety for the right job, whether it be for mashing, baking or roasting.”
