The Food Lovers' Fair has now opened in London's Covent Garden Market. More than 120 producers from around the UK will showcase the very best of sustainable British food made by authentic methods, while more than 250,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event.

Sweet Blackcurrant Vinegar, produced by Suzanne's Fruit Vinegars of Buckfastleigh in Devon won the Food Lovers' Best New Product for 2003.

Founder Henrietta Green said: “The standard of entries was extraordinarily high, but then the producers who come to the Food Lovers' Fairs have already been vetted for their quality and production methods. Despite fierce competition and much debate among the judges, Suzanne's vinegar was a worthy winner. Its intense and overwhelming fruitiness and clarity of flavour shone out. It is also amazingly versatile and is certainly going to be a hit with visitors to the fair.”

As well as winning a trophy, the vinegar will appear on the shelves of Fortnum & Mason for the next few weeks. Managing director of Fortnum & Mason, Stuart Gates said: “We are delighted to have sponsored this award which recognises a great achievement among the best of British food producers. Many of the products represented at the fair are already on sales at Fortnum's and Suzanne's sweet Blackcurrant Vinegar will be an excellent addition to their ranks.”
