There’s still time to sign up for this year’s Re:fresh conference and awards, which will see a glittering gala evening follow an afternoon of lively and interactive debate at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London.

The 19 May event kicks off at midday with a range of high-profile speakers discussing everything from retail and supply chain relations to new market opportunities and the London Olympics.

The speakers - all of whom will be taking part in panel debates where delegates have the chance to put their questions - include DEFRA minister Jim Paice, Morrisons category director Jane Speakman, Jan Matthews of LOCOG, Gary Marshall from New Covent Garden Market Tenants’ Association, Fresh Direct MD Nigel Harris and Peter Durose of Fresh Approach.

In a revamped format, the conference will take place during the afternoon, with delegates encouraged to network, interact and discuss industry issues with the speakers and each other.

The Re:fresh awards - the Oscars of the fresh produce industry - will be hosted by TV funnyman Hugh Dennis and will culminate in the crowning of winners in 16 categories. An overall trader and lifetime achiever will also be honoured.
