Vegetable specialist Fenmarc Produce gave away over 100 kilos of its new Rudolph potato variety at an Asda store in York this week.

The festively-named large, bright-red potatoes have a contrasting white flesh and are perfect for roasting, according to Fenmarc.

The promotion was designed to introduce shoppers to the variety ahead of its launch into selected Asda stores in 2007.

Fenmarc is a dedicated supplier of prepared and fresh vegetables and potatoes into Asda and works closely with the retailer to seek out and supply it with exclusive new varieties.

It has three factories based in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.
