Scotland Food & Drink’s first AGM and members’ day will take place on November 13 at the RBS Gogarburn Conference Centre, Edinburgh.

Allan Burns, chairman of Scotland Food & Drink, and Paul McLaughlin, chief executive, will be joined by guest speakers Jim Mather MSP, enterprise minister; Mark Thomson of TNS, Gavin Rothwell, senior business analyst at the Institute of Grocery Distribution and Stuart Heslop, md of corporate and institutional banking at RBS.

In addition, the heads of Scotland Food & Drink’s four working groups (which focus on collaboration, reputation, innovation and skills) will provide a report on the key actions that will help grow the industry from £7.5 billion to £10bn by 2017 and build Scotland’s reputation as A Land of Food and Drink.

McLaughlin said: “The AGM and members’ day covers our achievements over the last year and will include a session on how we plan to meet our goals in an extremely challenging economic climate. With influential speakers from the food and drink sector, parliament and banking, we are well-equipped to confront the issues affecting our industry.”
