Industry organisation Scotland Food & Drink is urging all food and drink organisations to get involved in this year’s Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight.

The event is taking place from 4-19 September and is in its second year.

Created to highlight the healthy, locally sourced food and drink available throughout Scotland, the festival seeks to realise the organisation’s motto of making Scotland synonymous as “the land of food and drink”.

Last year many businesses took part in Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight, ranging from major international brands to small artisan producers.

Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Feedback from businesses showed that being involved in Scotland Food & Drink Fortnight had a positive impact on their business. It acts as a strong promotional platform and allows organisations to boast about the fantastic array of produce available from Scotland.”

The food and drink event is a key part of the Scottish government’s Year of Food and Drink.
