One of the UK’s leading processors and suppliers of ready-to-eat leafy bagged salads, fresh fruit and vegetables, Southern Salads shared its latest range of baby leaf lettuces for the winter season at Old Billingsgate’s catering exhibition Lunch!, from October 1-2.

The latest baby leaf lettuce range of red mustard, pak choi, mustard frills and sorrel aims to liven up salads and sandwiches with its different colours and flavours.

Andrew Boakes, operations director, said: “It is important that Southern Salads continues to satisfy customer and consumer demands by developing new salad varieties that offer different taste experiences. Everyone is looking for something different to the standard leafy salads and Southern Salads finds itself supplying more baby leaf salad mix offerings with varieties like rocket, mizuna and tatsoi becoming increasingly popular.”

Lunch! went “beyond the most optimistic expectations”, according to organiser Diversified Business Communications UK, attracting more than 2,200 visitors.

Southern Salads also offers prepared fruit and vegetables and a large range of premium vegetables, including microwave and steam packs. It also supplies sandwich assembly items, pizza toppings and premium fruit salads.
