Steve’s Leaves has launched its new Luscious Leafy Tomato Trio side salad exclusively in to Waitrose stores nationwide.
The salad bowl (130g) will retail at £2.39, serves one to two people, and is aimed at providing a healthy and convenient option to accompany any meal.
Launching in time for summer, the ingredient at the core of the new salad is baby watercress.
The salad brand claims that this traditional watercress has been planted a little more densely and harvested earlier than normal, so it’s tender, with a delicate peppery flavour. The watercress is complemented by two other baby leaves, colourful red baby cos and baby chard.
Speaking about the new launch, Steve's Leaves brand manager Emily Dow, said: “At Steve’s Leaves we pride ourselves on providing unique and interesting products within a competitive market.
'The salad bowl market is worth £168.8 million and has seen growth of 4.3 per cent year on year. Convenience and flavour are two of the main attributes of the Luscious Leafy Tomato Trio; it’s an ideal option whether the consumer is cooking dinner for their family or looking for an accompaniment to a light lunch.
'This salad is healthy, at just 100kcals per bowl, and can go from the shop to table in no time at all. On top of this the baby leaves in this salad have been specially grown to intensify their flavour, and therefore the product appeals directly to the quality-conscious Steve’s Leaves buyer.”
The tomatoes in the dish come in three forms: slow roasted infused in basil oil, Piccolo cherry tomatoes and a tomato and thyme dressing, and during peak season, are sourced directly from the Isle of Wight. The Luscious Leafy Tomato Trio is finished off with orange peppers and cucumber, providing further texture and colour to the dish.
