Three tiers will be offered in extension of successful US model

Foodservice giant Sysco has launched a new range of own-brand products in Britain.

The range covers everything from the basic, everyday items chefs need, to premium ingredients sourced from around the world.

According to the company, Sysco Brand products “compare favourably with other leading foodservice products and are backed by Sysco’s best-in-class quality assurance guarantee.” The line of products will be made available to all Sysco’s British businesses, including Brakes, kff and Medina Foodservice, and ranges across three different tiers: Sysco Essentials, Sysco Classic and Sysco Premium.

Sysco Premium is said to offer superior products that stand out for the quality of their ingredients. They are sourced across the world and offer premium performance and exceptional value.

Sysco Classic provides quality products that are “a match for any branded product, while giving more value for the price”. The extensive selection can be found in all product categories from store cupboard staples, fresh and frozen foods to prepared products.

Sysco Essentials is a value line that the company says also delivers greater consistency than other economy brands. Products in the range provide a low-cost option for foodservice operators.

Stuart Smith, merchandising director for Sysco in Britain, said: “The Sysco brand is hugely successful in the US, where it has built a strong reputation for quality and value. The new range we’ve introduced in Great Britain will help customers here more easily identify the products they want, while giving them confidence that what they’re selecting is backed by the quality and value you’d expect from the world’s leading foodservice supplier.”
