Appointments come as company reports turnover surpassing £200mn
Nationwide Produce has appointed three new directors to its board as it marks a milestone growth in turnover.
Employee engagement director Emma Wendon, sales and procurement director Mark Roberts, and marketing and communications director Rebecca Fox have all joined the board led by chairman Tim O’Malley and chief executive Patrick O’Malley.
The company said the strategic appointments reflect its ability to remain agile and future-focused, and “strengthen the company’s leadership with a diverse range of skills and expertise to support continued progression and sustainable growth.”
Nationwide operates a minimum five‑year board directorship term, after which positions transition to a rolling arrangement. This approach keeps the board fresh and engaged, the company explained, ensuring all directors are consistently pushing the business forward.
The model also enables the company to retain high‑performing leaders while creating opportunities for emerging talent, ensuring a balance of continuity and new perspectives, it added.
Year of growth
The appointments come as Nationwide reported breaking through the £200mn turnover barrier for the first time for the financial year ending 30 May 2025.
During the year employee numbers grew to 309, while there was significant investment in the business including a £6mn overhaul and extension of the onion packhouse at Long Sutton.
Further investment continues across the transport fleet, farming operations, the Evesham site, and the new depot in Burscough.
“It’s been a year of milestones for Nationwide Produce, and I want to thank every single member of the team for their contribution to our success story,” said Tim O’Malley. “From surpassing £200mn turnover to completing major investments like the Long Sutton packhouse, our people make it possible.
“To help guide and support our continued growth, we have welcomed three exceptional new directors to the board. They each bring unique perspectives, creative flair, and innovation – exactly what we need to keep accelerating our growth and strengthening our culture.
“Our rolling five‑year directorship model is designed to keep leadership dynamic and accountable, and these appointments demonstrate how it delivers: we retain those driving the business forward and open the door for fresh perspectives to keep us ahead. I’m delighted to welcome Emma, Mark, and Rebecca, and I look forward to seeing the impact they will make.”
