Traders, customers and passersby at New Covent Garden Market could be served by iconic chef Pierre Koffmann this week, as part of a partnership and giveaway between The Food Heroes and Premier Foods Wholesale.

Koffmann, who is behind restaurants such as Michelin-starred La Tante Claire and Koffmann’s, will be showcasing products from his and Marco Pierre White’s retro branded fresh and frozen potatoes, as well as a growing stable of vegetable brands.

Traders will also be able to buy high-end chicken and chips courtesy of the Ed Sheeran-backed fast food outlet Ginger Wings and non-alcoholic cocktails from the Les Vergers Boiron range.

Koffmann said: “New Covent Garden Market has played a very important role as we have built The Food Heroes quickly into a major player on the UK food scene.

“We want to show our gratitude to our partners and all of the customers across the UK’s largest wholesale market for the part they have played in our journey to date, and give them a flavour of what’s still to come.”

Founder of Premier Foods Wholesale, Jason Tanner, said: “Our business has expanded significantly in the last few years and our partnership with The Food Heroes has been central to that growth.

“The product they deliver is consistently the best around and gives our customers a level of reliability that keeps them coming back for more. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together so far and look forward to showcasing the products to the market community.”

Koffmann will be at the market between 2-4pm on 25 September, and between 10pm and 2am on 26 September, at Premier Foods Wholesale’s units.

He added: “I look forward to meeting everyone and talking about how we can enhance their kitchens, menus, and businesses.”
