The Colombian flower industry has targeted the UK marketplace for cut flower sales expansion, ahead of the annual flower exhibition ProFlora in Bogotá.

Colombia sends up to seven per cent of its flower exports to the UK, but president of Asocolflores, the association of Colombian flower exporters, Augusto Solano said at Proexport Colombia’s promotional drive in London that this was not enough.

“The UK is one of the largest markets for fresh cut flowers and we have sold a lot of carnations in the past, but our portfolio is wider,” he said.
