UK to welcome international blackcurrant conference

The third International Blackcurrant Association Conference is to be held on 16-18 May this year in Dundee.

Conference sessions will cover breeding and agronomy, health benefits, blackcurrant production, marketing initiatives and the annual production review.

Speakers include Professor Derek Stewart and Dr Rex Brennan of the James Hutton Institute.

Also included are visits to the James Hutton Institute at Invergowrie, local blackcurrant farms and the Mackays jam factory in Arbroath and plenty of time for social events too with a civic reception, ceilidh, conference dinner and whisky distillery visit all on the schedule.

It is being hosted by the International Blackcurrant Association and The James Hutton Institute in association with Glaxo SmithKline and Mylnefield Research Services Ltd.
