Fresh curly leaves of kale

Kale and brassicas are among products grown in Wales

Welsh growers can promote their produce’s origin through a new Welsh horticulture initiative.

Promotional material will include a distinctive Welsh logo, which can be used on products, websites and other marketing tools, and an online datable to enable networking within the industry and serve as a consumer directory.

As well as continuing to help growers promote Welsh produce, the new organisation will also help the industry apply for further government support by demonstrating the industry's collaboration and commitment.

The new initiative, which is being run as a Community Interest Company (CIC), has been announced as rural development campaign Horticulture Wales comes to an end.

Growers and producers are able to order Horticulture Wales' remaining stock of free bilingual point-of-sale material to promote Welsh-grown produce. The material is in the form of ‘Grow to Love’ information postards, on products ranging from Brussels sprouts, spinach, rhubarb and kale, with space to add a company logo.

Anyone interested in registering as a Welsh grower and receive progress reports on the project should email enquiries@growersofwales.cymru.
