Der Bericht ist die erste umfassende Bestandsanalyse zur Artenvielfalt in Deutschland. Mehr als 150 Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler haben hierfür über 6.000 Publikationen ausgewertet. Forschende der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) waren daran maßgeblich beteiligt.
