Bakkavör has moved to tap into the growing Asian market for fresh prepared foods by opening a new factory and farm in eastern China.
According to just-food, the group has launched a farm in Jiangsu province and a factory in Fujian province to complement its existing operations in the country and Hong Kong.
'This investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the Asian market,' noted Bakkavör's chief executive Agust Gudmundsson.
'The development of fresh prepared foods in China represents a fantastic opportunity for Bakkavör and we see a real, and growing, demand for our expertise,' he added.
