Blueberry breeder, grower and marketer Mountain Blue Farms has teamed up with fruit marketing company Mercer Mooney, to roll out blueberry production in Western Australia.
The partners are looking to plant Mountain Blue Farms’ trademarked Eureka blueberries as far north as Broome and as far south as Albany, along with “various locations in between.”
“We are excited to work with Mercer Mooney and ensure that Eureka blueberries are available in Western Australia in the near future,” said Mountain Blue Farms managing director Andrew Bell. “In addition, we will be looking to develop export opportunities in conjunction with WA blueberry growers.”
Mountain Blue received the Coles Supplier Award for Product Innovation in 2016 for the Eureka variety.
Mercer Mooney is one of the largest fruit marketers in Western Australia, focused on supplying domestic and international customers with fruit grown in the state.
