A fire in Malaysia’s eastern Sabah region last week destroyed nearly 600ha of pineapple plantations, according to local media.
The week-long forest fire at Luagan Sanginan began Saturday 7 February, and is suspected to have been deliberately lit, reported Malaysia’s Daily Express.
Efforts to control the fire were hindered by strong winds.
