BerryWorld has been awarded five Superior Taste Awards, gaining global recognition for its strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries.
Five of the supplier’s exclusive berry varieties – BerryWorld Jewel raspberries, BerryWorld Midnight blackberries, BerryWorld Sundown blueberries, Sweet Eve 2 strawberries and Eves Delight 2 strawberries – won a Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute in Brussels, receiving two stars.
The varieties were evaluated on several factors, including appearance, aroma, texture and taste, and were judged by a jury of prestigious chefs and sommeliers alongside more than 15,000 food and drink products from around the world.
Chief executive of the BerryWorld Group Adam Olins said: “We are constantly investing in varietal development; you can never stand still. The foundation of our business is our people and our product. Not only do our berries have to taste fantastic, they must be sustainable too, delivering a high yield for growers, improved shelf life for customers and fantastic flavour for consumers.”
