Directors and senior managers of the UK's leading supermarket will spend seven days working with shop-floor staff on everything from checkouts to home deliveries between now and June 2003.

A Tesco spokesman told freshinfo: 'Managers will spend at least half a day in a slot relevant to their head office role.' Chief executive Terry Leahy has just completed a week at Tesco's Royston store, in Hertfordshire, where he worked on the fish counter and in the warehouse. And managers will be spending time working in an area which ties in with their post in the office.
