Farmers and growers from across the UK and Ireland are being urged to apply for a new farming programme that will air on Sky1.
The programme, entitled Country Fair: The Big Farm Challenge, will see three families take part in a variety of challenges to showcase their knowledge about what it takes to run a family farm, and the effort involved in caring for the landscape and feeding the nation. One family will then take home the winning prize to become one of Britain’s Best Farming Families.
“We want to hear from farmers who love the land and despite the highs and lows of the industry, would never dream of doing anything else for a living,’ said series producer, Non Griffith of the Cwmni Da production company.
“We want to hear from first time farmers as well as families who’ve been farming for generations – what’s important for us is that they’re passionate about what they do, want to celebrate their skills and have fun along the way,' she added.
The tasks may require as many as four people and could include family members, friends or neighbours.
