Citrus importer Exotifruit has announced it is awaiting its first-ever crop of Fairtrade-certified Mexican limes.

Grown in Martinez de la Torre, the limes will meet the growing demands of the market for sustainably-sourced fruit and empower smaller producers, Exotifruit said.

The first containers are due at the beginning of June and will be available year-round with various carton sizes and branding options. Direct shipping to the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, South Korea and Japan is also available.

“Exotifruit is confident that alongside the growing popularity for limes and increased consumer awareness, that the Fairtrade limes will be greatly received across Europe,” said the company’s Stuart Guest.

Exotifruit is part of the Allfresch Group, a global wholesale importer and exporter of conventional, organic and fair trade fresh produce.
