US berry giant Naturipe unveiled its new avocado brand at this year’s Asia Fruit Logistica with plans to grow sales both domestically and overseas.
With fruit from Peru, Chile and Mexico, the new Naturipe-branded fruit is currently being sold across the US, according to director of international sales, Clay Wittmeyer.
The company has identified the potential in the Asian market for a premium branded avocado, he continued, and will begin exports once domestic sales are established.
Berries are still Naturipe’s primary category, Wittmeyer said, with particular growth in the organic sector. “Sales are up around five per cent per quarter in organics, with plantings in place to handle the demand,” he added.
